in assessing the shortcomings and achievements, and in making
proposals for the future.
This publication is expected to provide a critical assessment of
current practices and signal frameworks and platforms for future
action and exchange. It is hoped that the publication will be used
as an advocacy document to raise the profile of artists and curators
working in the Caribbean islands and propose models for future
collaborative efforts to advance the dialogue on and staging of
Caribbean art, particularly within the Caribbean.
Contributors include Dominique Brebion (Martinique), Sara
Hermann (Dominican Republic), Winston Kellman (Barbados),
José Manuel Noceda (Cuba), Veerle Poupeye and O’Neil
Lawrence (Jamaica), Barbara Prezeau (Haiti), Jennifer Smit
(Curacao), Claire Tancons (Guadeloupe), Krista Thompson
(Bahamas) and Elvis Fuentes (Puerto Rico) with an introduc-
tion by Allison Thompson (Barbados). The collection is edited
by David A. Bailey, Alissandra Cummins, Axel Lapp and Allison
Thompson, and is published by The Green Box with the support
of the Prince Claus Fund.
Cet ouvrage devrait fournir une évaluation critique des
méthodes de fonctionnement actuelles et pointer les structures
et les lieux d’interactions pour les actions et échanges futurs.
Il est à espérer que ce document sera utilisé comme plaidoyer
pour mettre en valeur le profil des artistes et des commissaires
d’expositions travaillant dans les îles des Caraïbes et servira
de guide pour les projets de collaboration possibles visant à
promouvoir le dialogue sur l’art caribéen et la scénographie
